Fallsky theme is translation ready. We have included .pot file which can be used for translating the theme into any language.<\/p>\n

please use this free tool to translate: poedit<\/a>. You can download the tool to your computer, and read poedit documentation<\/a> to know the details about how to translate your site with the tool.<\/p>\n

Let’s translate the text “Next Article” into German as a simple example:<\/p>\n

Step 1 – Find the .pot file<\/h5>\n

In the fallsky<\/strong> theme folder, please go to assets > languages<\/strong>, there you can find the “fallsky.pot”<\/strong> file.<\/p>\n

Step 2 – Translate text in “fallsky.pot” file<\/h5>\n

Please download and install poedit<\/a> on your computer first. Then right click the “fallsky.pot”<\/strong> file and choose to open it with Poedit.app<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Or open Poedit.app<\/strong> first, then choose “Create New Translation”<\/strong> and choose “fallsky.pot” file.<\/p>\n

Select the target language in the list:<\/p>\n

Find the text you’d like to translate, then enter the translated text into “Translation”<\/strong> box.<\/p>\n

When complete the translation, click “File” > “Save as”<\/strong>, then add “fallsky-“<\/strong> as the prefix to the file name. So if the default file name is “de_DE.po”, change it to “fallsky-de_DE.po”.<\/p>\n

Then you will get 2 files: “fallsky-de_DE.po”<\/strong> and “fallsky-de_DE.mo”<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 3 – Upload translated files to your WordPress site<\/h5>\n

Please upload the 2 files to your WordPress site via FTP. Please put the 2 files to the path “wp-content\/languages\/themes”, like shown in the screenshot below. You may need to create a new folder and name it “themes”<\/strong> if the folder doesn’t exist.<\/p>\n

Please note:<\/strong> Don’t upload to wp-content > themes<\/strong>, the correct path is wp-content > languages > themes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step 4 – Switch your site language<\/h5>\n

In your WordPress dashboard, go to Settings > General > Site Language<\/strong>, choose the target language in the list, then save changes to let your site use the translated file.<\/p>\n

As you can see in the screenshot below, the text “Next Article” on a single post page has been translated into “N\u00e4chster Artikel”:<\/p>\n

And please note: when switch your site language, be careful with the language options. For example, if you choose “Deutsch (Schweiz)<\/strong>” instead of “Deutsch”<\/strong>, then the translated files should be named as\u00a0“fallsky-de_CH.po”<\/strong> and “fallsky-de_CH.mo”<\/strong>. WordPress will not load\u00a0“fallsky-de_DE.po”<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0“fallsky-de_DE.mo” <\/strong>for\u00a0“Deutsch (Schweiz)”<\/strong> language\u00a0option.<\/p>\n
